The system allows real-time monitoring of the production line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, guaranteeing the company access, in real time, to all information on the processing of orders during the production cycle, as well as specific data for operator and machine.
Designed with a scalable structure, it ensures the management of a large number of machinery present in the plant.
The system includes:
- The reception of the data sent by the operators through optical readers connected to terminals installed at the production machines;
- The reception of the data that the machines themselves generate on their production status (pieces produced, machine status…);
- Integration with data from the company order management system (AS / 400);
The data acquisition and processing procedures have been developed in a Microsoft Visual Basic 6 environment, relying on a Microsoft SQL Server 7 database.
The system is also integrated by a reporting environment developed with BusinessObjects technology which, relying on a Data Warehouse defined starting from the data collected during the production cycle, offers the company management a DSS (Decision Supporting System) of considerable value, guaranteeing statistical analysis on a large time scale.
